'Cuse Drops to No. 10 Seminoles

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Orange softball team (11-9, 0-2) fell to No. 10 Florida State (24-4, 2-0) 13-1 in five innings. Freshman Kendall Gaunt recorded her first career home run, but 'Cuse was unable to overcome the Seminoles in the second game of the series.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Florida State started with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a home run from Isa Torres. The Seminoles went on to add additional runs in the bottom of each inning.Â
Gabby Lantier added a hit in the top of the third inning, reaching first base. Gaunt hit a solo home run over the left field fence to put Syracuse on the board, but FSU ultimately won the game 13-1.Â

- Freshman infielder Kendall Gaunt hit her first career home run.Â
- Madison Knight drew two walks against Seminole pitcher Ashtyn Danley.Â
- SU recorded 12 putouts. Vanessa Flores led the team with five.Â
UP NEXT
The Orange will close out the first ACC series of the season tomorrow at noon against the Seminoles. The game, hosted at the Seminole Softball Complex, will also be televised on ACC Network Extra.
