SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The Orange softball team (18-26, 4-18) concluded its season against Virginia Tech (44-9, 18-6) after a 12-1 loss in five innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Virginia Tech struck first as Nora Abromavage hit a two-run home run over the right field fence in the top of the third inning.

The Orange answered back as Jadyn Burney sent the ball into left field, driving in Gabby Lantier from second base to score.

The Hokies hit three home runs, including two back-to-back as part of their seven-run inning at the top of the fourth to stretch the lead over the Orange. SU was unable to add to the scoreboard as the Hokies capped off three additional runs in the top of the fifth inning to win 12-1 in five innings.

OF NOTE

Jadyn Burney's two-hit performance was her 12th multi-hit game of the season, and 21st in her career.
Lauren Fox and Madelyn Lopez each recorded a hit in Sunday's contest.
In the circle, Julianna Verni recorded two strikeouts through 3.1 innings pitched while Madison Knight struck out three batters in her 1.2 innings of relief.
