Syracuse University Athletics Venue Policies
The following Athletics Venue Polices are in effect for Syracuse University's Department of Athletics facilities, including:
- JMA Wireless Dome
- J.S. Coyne Stadium (field hockey)
- SU Soccer Stadium
- Skytop Softball Stadium
- Tennity Ice Pavilion
- Women’s Building (volleyball)
- Drumlins Country Club (tennis)
Alcohol
Alcohol is strictly prohibited in any of our stadiums or buildings with the exception of the JMA Dome. Individuals violating this policy are subject to ejection from the facility. No refunds will be available for ticketed events.
Banners and Signs
Guests may display hand-held banners or signs in the venues during events provided they are in good taste and comply with the following:
- Are not derogatory and do not contain profanity
- Do not impede another guest’s view of the playing field
- Show no commercial content
- Do not block stadium signage
- Do not contain sticks or poles
The Athletic Department reserves the right and has sole discretion to permit or remove any sign or banner from the stadium at any time.
Concessions
- Outside food and beverages are prohibited within venues.
- Concessions will be available at all soccer and softball games and select other events. A variety of food and soft serve drink products will be available as well as some merchandise Concession stands typically open 60 minutes prior to the start of a game.
Fan Code of Conduct
Syracuse Athletics expects all fans to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times before, during and after the competition and both inside the facility and in surrounding areas. The following actions will not be tolerated:
- Interference with the progress of the game (including throwing objects onto the field or court)
- Intoxication or other signs of impairment related to alcohol consumption that results in rude or irresponsible behavior
- Behavior that is unruly, disruptive or illegal in nature
- Fighting, taunting or threatening remarks or gestures
- Foul or abusive language or gestures
- Smoking in any area of Syracuse University facilities
- Possession and/or use of illegal drugs or firearms
- Obscene, indecent or offensive clothing / signs
- Failing to comply with instructions from ushers, parking attendants, security or law enforcement representatives
- Excessive standing. Please be aware when you stand, you block the view of the fans behind you. We do not wish to diminish your ability to cheer and enjoy the game, however, your continued standing can interfere with others’ ability to enjoy the game from their seats.
Entrance to Facility
- Unless noted, games outside the Dome are free of charge. Post-season play will require a paid ticket.
- All facilities typically open 60 minutes prior to the start of the game.
- Any personal items including, but not limited to, bags, purses, strollers, are subjected to inspection and search prior to entering the stadium and during competition. Please be prepared for the possibility of this security process at any venue at any event.
- Clear bags are required for the Dome only. At other Syracuse University Athletics facilities clear bags are not required unless previous public notice has been provided.
Seating
- With the exception of the Dome, all seating is General Admission and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Accessible seating for guest in wheelchairs or with mobility concerns on stairs is available. Please see an event staff member for assistance.
- Seating will be available on the hill at the Soccer Stadium for select soccer games.
- Sitting directly behind goals is prohibited.
Lost and Found
- The Syracuse University Department of Public Safety maintains a lost and found for misplaced items found on campus and also for some items left on CENTRO or Bernie Bus transports.
- Commonly located items include keys, glasses, cell phones, and SUID cards.
- Contact SU public safety about lost and found items please go to or call 315-443-2224.
- CENTRO also operates its own lost and found, for items left on buses which the driver does not turn over to DPS. To contact the CENTRO lost and found service, call 315.442.3400.
Parking
- Syracuse University assume no liability for theft, damage or loss of property left in a vehicle. We assume no responsibility for any damage that may result to a vehicle parked in a lot.
- Free general parking is available for most softball, soccer, field hockey, tennis, ice hockey and volleyball events. If any game coincides with another event happening at the Carrier Dome (basketball, football, concert, etc.), parking may be in different lots and there may be a charge to park.

Animals
- Certified service animals are welcome at any venue.
- All other animals must be approved by event management personnel but are generally not admitted to venues unless related to specific events.
Camera Usage
- Personal cameras are permitted at all venues.
- Professional cameras with lenses 6 inches or longer & tripods will not be permitted unless you have a Photo/Press credential issued through Syracuse University Athletic Communications.
- Please contact Syracuse University Athletic Communications prior to event.
- GoPros and selfie sticks are prohibited.
Press, Media and Photographer Area
- Only credentialed personnel will be allowed onto the field or near the press box area.
- All media should contact Syracuse University Athletic Communications prior to the day of the game to request a credential.
Smoking/Vaping
- The Athletics Department venues, along with the rest of the Syracuse University campus, are smoke and tobacco free. Smoking and tobacco use is prohibited both inside and outside all venues.
- The smoke/tobacco-free policy includes all parking lots.
- Additionally, “smokeless”/e-cigarettes are prohibited.
Umbrellas
- Umbrellas are permitted inside the facilities.
- For the courtesy and safety of all fans, we ask that when raising umbrellas you do not obstruct the view of other fans or staff.
Prohibited Items
- Syracuse University reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the stadium.
- Prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle and/or discarded.
- All fans are subject to search before entering facilities.
- For the safety and game day experience of all fans, the following items are prohibited from entering the stadium:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Artificial noise makers (with the exception of men’s and women’s soccer)
- Amplified devices
- Fog/air horns
- Bull horns
- Whistles
- Backpacks and large bags (except medical and childcare),
- Balloons
- Balls
- Frisbees
- Sticks and bats
- Coolers and containers
- Drones/unmanned aircraft systems
- Items that obstruct the sight lines of other fans
- Pets
- Outside chairs
- Outside food and beverage
- Laser pointers
- Cameras with lens over 6 inches
- Hazardous materials
- Weapons of any kind (including pocket knives)
