CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Orange softball team (12-16, 1-9) is set to face Boston College (11-26, 2-10) in Harrington Athletics Village this weekend. 'Cuse and the Eagles will compete in a three-game series from April 10-12.
ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse won one out of a three-game series against Pittsburgh on the road last weekend, claiming a 9-6 victory on Thursday and falling to the Panthers 5-6 on Friday and 4-5 in eight innings on Saturday. The team currently stands in 15th place in the conference headed into their road series this weekend.
The Orange had multiple home run hitters this weekend. Kaimi Tulua's grand slam in Thursday's game was the third in her career. Jadyn Burney also hit her third career home run, on the second pitch of Thursday's game. Sophomore Erika Zamora collected her second career home run in the top of the second inning. Thursday's game was the first win for the Orange against the Panthers since 2024, and the first time 'Cuse hit three home runs in a game since facing LIU in 2025.
On Friday, Madison Knight hit her eighth home run of the season, the 22nd in her career. She had a multi-RBI game, which is her sixth of the season, and her second consecutive game driving multiple runners in.
Kendall Gaunt hit her third career and season home run in Saturday's game and recorded her third multi-hit game of the season.
SU will kick off the weekend on Friday at 4 p.m. at Harrington Athletics Village followed by a 3 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and a 1 p.m. faceoff on Sunday. Â
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College enters the weekend at home with an 11-26 overall record and a 2-10 ACC record. Last weekend, the Eagles traveled to Atlanta, falling to Georgia Tech in all three games.
Freshman Emma Knight hit her ninth home run of the season in the series opener against Georgia Tech. Sophomore Adriana Martinez followed shortly after with her sixth home run of the season.
In the final game of the series, Emma Knight recorded another home run and tallied two RBIs. The freshman has had 12 games this season with multiple RBI.
The Eagles had four players named to the ACC Freshman Watch list – Alyx Rossi, Nicole Riddell, Emma Knight and Sophia Bertorelli.
Boston College currently stands in 14th place in the ACC. The Eagles were picked to finish in 15th place, according to the ACC Preseason Poll.
Last season, Boston College ended 15th in the ACC and finished the season 22-29. The Eagles had a 5-19 conference record and did not make it to the ACC tournament.
