
Syracuse Sweeps Fordham

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's tennis team (3-0) continued its unbeaten start by defeating Fordham (1-1) Sunday afternoon inside Drumlins Country Club, 7-0.
After winning the doubles point, the Orange continued to find success after winning all six points in singles play. The Orange closed out the match with their first sweep of the season.

THE RUNDOWN
- Syracuse earned doubles point quickly with a trio of victories from new pairings.
- Playing together for the first time this spring, Shiori Ito and Nelly Knezkova, who are No. 96 in the current ITA doubles rankings, won 6-3 at the No. 1 spot.
- Anastasia Sysoeva and Monika Wojcik teamed up for the first time on the campaign and won 6-2 at the No. 2 position.
- At the No. 3 spot, Miyuka Kimoto and Serafima Shastova delivered a 6-1 triumph.
- Ito improved to 3-0 in singles on the season by defeating Catalina Padilla 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot. It was the highest in the lineup Ito has played this season in singles as she is yet to drop a set.
- Shastova won her second straight singles contest at the No. 2 position, defeating Lorraine Bergmann 6-0, 6-2.
- Wojcik clinched the match for the Orange with a 6-0, 6-3 result at the No. 5 spot. The freshman is now 3-0 on the season in singles without dropping a set.
- Constance Levivier clinched the victory at the No. 4 spot with a result of 6-2,6-2. Levivier is one of three Syracuse players to win singles in all three of the team's matches this season, along with Knezkova and Ito.
- Making her debut at the No. 1 singles spot, Knezkova won 6-2, 6-2 against Julianne Nguyen.
- Haram Kim made her collegiate debut and earned her first victory with the Orange, winning 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.
- The Orange did not drop a set across doubles or singles play.
- This is Syracuse's second straight sweep of Fordham, as the Orange also beat the Rams 7-0 last season.
- This is the third consecutive 3-0 start for the Orange.
