Acronym (RESCRIBE) – homage to our desire to rewrite the narrative at Syracuse University
Syracuse University Athletics values a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and we look to be a national leader among our peers. To do this, we will:
- Respect all individuals
- Educate and empower our students, coaches, and staff about diversity, equity, and inclusion (education/training pillar)
- Support the Syracuse University Council on Diversity and Inclusion
- Create and maintain systems, practices, and spaces that respect individual and group differences
- Recognize and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion accomplishments, initiatives, and efforts to our broader community (recognition/acknowledgement pillar)
- Implement processes and practices that create and build an inclusive environment between our University and community (community outreach)
- Be open to different perspectives and encourage staff and students to have a voice
- Emphasize and challenge our department to connect with, interview, and hire a diverse set of individuals (hire pillar)
