
Tennis Season Comes To An End In 4-0 Loss Against Georgia Tech

CARY, N.C – The No. 16-seed Syracuse women's tennis team (11-11, 4-11 ACC) fell to No. 8 seed Georgia Tech (13-10, 7-6 ACC), 4-0, during the third round of the ACC Tournament, Thursday morning, at the Cary Tennis Center. With today's loss, Syracuse's season came to an end.
The match marked Georgia Tech's first appearance in the tournament, while Syracuse had been competing since Tuesday, picking up wins against Boston College and Clemson University in its first two rounds.
Previously, in the regular season, the Yellow Jackets were able to grab a 4-2 victory over the Orange on March 21.

THE RUNDOWN
- The Yellow Jackets secured the doubles point early in the matchup this morning, earning wins from every position. Georgia Tech gave up three points at the No. 3 position while at the Nos. 1 and 2 they only gave up two.
- At No. 4 singles, Given Roach pushed the Yellow Jackets score to 2-0 after winning 6-3, 6-1.
- ITA's No. 88 ranked Alejandra Cruz topped Nelly Knezkova at the No. 2 position with a 6-2, 6-1 result clinching the match for Georgia Tech.
- Kate Sharabura finished with a 6-2, 7-5 defeat against Anastasia Sysoeva.
- Miyuka Kimoto, Monika Wojcik and Constance Levivier were unable to complete their matches this morning as they were declared unfinished. Kimoto and Wojcik each held a lead in the second set after taking the first, while Levivier had battled to even her match after dropping the opening set.
- This was the first time the Orange had competed in the third round of the ACC tournament.
