
Syracuse Moves Forward In ACC Tournament

CARY, N.C – The Syracuse womens tennis team (10-10, 3-10 ACC) defeated Boston College (5-17, 1-11 ACC), 4-2, Tuesday morning at the Cary Tennis Complex to advance forward in the ACC tournament.
To begin the match, Syracuse claimed the doubles point for its eighth time this season which proved pivotal for the Orange.
Shiori Ito added the second point for Syracuse after defeating Nadia Dimovska, 6-4, 6-1 putting the Orange ahead 2-0. The Eagles responded back with two wins coming from the Nos. 2 and 3 positions which tied the match at 2-2.
Miyuka Kimoto put Syracuse in the lead once again making the score 3-2, followed by a win from Monika Wojcik to clinch the match.
THE RUNDOWN
The Orange will face No. 9 seed Clemson tommorow Wednesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. for the second round in the ACC tournament.

- Ito/Nelly Knezkova appeared at the No. 1 doubles posisiton for the 10th time this season earning a win against Alex Torre and Seren Agar in a doubles tiebreak, 7-6 (7-2).
- Ansatasia Sysoeva and Kimoto won at the No. 2 doubles spot with a 6-3 result.
- Wojcik and Serafima Shastova clinched the doubles point for the Orange after winning, 7-5.
- No. 124 Kimoto improves to 8-8 in singles play after defeating Seren Agar in a three-set match, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. Her victory put Syracuse in the lead with a 3-2 overall score.
- Ito found success at the No. 5 spot in singles winning 6-4, 6-0.
- After losing in her first set 4-6, Wojcik came back to win the second set, 6-2 followed by a 7-5 victory in the third set which clinched the match for Syracuse to advance to the next round.
- Sysoeva's match was declared unfinished after Wojcik won the match.
