Women's Rowing Competes at Cornell Fall Classic

The women's rowing team finished its fall season at the Cornell Fall Classic in Ithaca, NY, on Saturday. The Orange raced two 3,500m races on the Cayuga Inlet against Cornell and Ithaca College.

In the first flight of the day, the Orange swept the second varsity, third varsity and fourth varsity races. In the 2V race it was Syracuse (12:46.1) over Cornell (13:48.2) and Ithaca's 1V (14:00.3). The 3V finished in 13:21.8 while Cornell's 3V clocked 13:49.4 and IC's 2V finished in 14:59.8. The final race of the first flight had Syracuse (13:32.0) over Cornell's 4V (14:09.6) and 5V (14:34.0) and Ithaca's 3V (15:41.8).

Syracuse (12:51.1) swept the second flight of races once more with the 2V beating Cornell (13:39.4) and Ithaca (13:57.6). The 3V had finished in 13:42.5 over Cornell (14:12.2) and Ithaca (15:05.9. Syracuse finished the day with a win in the 4V turning in a time of 13:59.7.

Syracuse's varsity eight did not race on Saturday. The Orange were eighth among college crews at the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA, last month in the Championship Eight boat class.
