
Orange Finish 12-0 In Singles At Big Red Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's tennis team capped off a successful Big Red Invite on Sunday by going 6-0 across singles and doubles. Cornell hosted the event at the Reis Tennis Center.
Serafima Shastova extended her winning streak in singles to nine with a hard-fought 2-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory against Penn State's Maiko Uchijima. It was her third win of the fall to come in three sets. The sophomore has a team-best 12 singles wins this fall.
Nelly Knezkova, Shiori Ito and Constance Levivier all picked up straight-set triumphs to finish unbeaten in singles for the week. They combined to lose just eight games across six winning sets.
In doubles, Syracuse went 2-0 with two new pairings. Ito and Shastova defeated Sage Loudon and Andrea Martinez De Los Rios of Cornell 7-5, and Levivier paired with Knezkova for a 6-1 victory against Niagara's Larisa Kotok and Gabriela Melo.
Syracuse finished the event a perfect 12-0 in singles and 4-2 in doubles. The Orange went 152-58 in total games in their 12 singles victories.
