
Tennis Sweeps Singles On Day Two At Big Red Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. – For the second straight day, the Syracuse University women's tennis team posted a perfect 4-0 singles record at the Big Red Invite. Saturday was the second day of the event, which Cornell is hosting at the Reis Tennis Center.
Sefafima Shastova continued her dominance in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. The sophomore moved to 11-1 on the fall with the victory and has now won seven sets by a 6-0 score. Fellow sophomore Nelly Knezkova also won Saturday, dispatching Niagara's Isabel Garcia 6-1, 6-2 for her fifth fall victory.
Shiori Ito won for the third time in her last four appearances, beating Niagara's Larisa Kotok 6-2, 6-1. Constance Levivier also won in straight sets, topping Isabella Barona of Le Moyne 6-3, 6-2.
In total, Syracuse went 48-11 in singles games across the four matches and is now 97-32 in games during the tournament.
The tournament concludes on Sunday with play scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
