AUSTIN, Texas- The Orange softball team fell to Ohio State 0-9 in six innings on the final day of the Bevo Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first inning, Madelyn Lopez drew a walk in the Orange's first at-bat to make it to first base. Jadyn Burney stepped up to the plate, bunting the ball to reach first and advance Lopez to second base.

Grace Weaver singled to right center in the bottom of the third inning to give SU its first hit of the day. Burney followed, singling to the right side and recording her second hit of the game.

Kayla Sigala got on first base after a hit to right field in the bottom of the fourth inning. Peyton Schemmer stepped in to pinch run, advancing to second base after Erika Zamora drew a walk.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Harmony Jackson pinch hit for Lauren Fox, singling to left field. Fox reentered the game to pinch run for Jackson, reaching second base after Zamora was walked. The Orange ultimately fell to Ohio State 0-9 in six innings.

OF NOTE

Jadyn Burney recorded her third multi-hit game of the season after tallying two hits. It was her thirteenth multi-hit game in her career.
Vanessa Flores led the team in putouts, recording seven.

UP NEXT

Syracuse will head to Lynchburg, Virginia, for the Liberty Softball Classic. The tournament will run from Friday, Feb. 20 to Sunday, Feb. 22 at Liberty Softball Stadium. The Orange will take on host Liberty and Toledo.
