BALTIMORE. MD.- Syracuse (0-1-0) is set to face Loyola Maryland (1-0-0) in its first away match of the season. The match is slated for noon at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

'Cuse Update
'The Orange fell short in their home opener against Connecticut, 1-0. Carlos Zambrano led Syracuse in shots, recording six. Bright Nutornutsi tallied two shots, both on target in his Orange debut.

Seven players made their first apperance for Syracuse against Connecticut, four of which started. Transfers Ernest Mensah Jr., Tim Brdaric, Bright Nutornutsi and Tim Noeding took the field first for the Orange. Freshmen Quentin Christey and Landon Darko, along with Santiago Frias all made an apperance in their first game as well.

Syracuse won its exhibition matches against Marist (Aug. 9) and Mercyhurst (Aug. 12), and tied St. John's (Aug. 16), outscoring its opponents, 6-1.

'Cuse is coming off a 7-7-3 record in 2024. The Orange made an appearance in the ACC Championship, falling to Wake Forest in the first round.

Scouting the Greyhounds
Loyola Maryland comes off a 4-7-6 season in 2024. The Greyhounds' season ended in the first round of the Patriot League Championship in a 1-1 draw to American, which advanced on penalty kicks. The Greyhounds finished ninth in the Patriot League with a 1-2-1 conference record.

Prior to Sunday's matchup, the Greyhounds defeated NJIT 2-0 at home, thanks to goals by two freshmen. Jack Endacott struck early at the fourth minute on a pass from Tyler Flynn, and Nicholas Turturro put up a goal with assists from Chris Ogor and David Williams in the 82'.

In the starting lineup, three freshmen, three sophomores, two juniors, a senior and two graduate students stepped in for the Greyhounds

Series History
Syracuse and Loyola Maryland haven't matched up since the 2022 season, which resulted in a 6-1 win for the Orange at home.

The Orange lead the series, holding four victories over the Greyhound's three.

Following Sunday's match, the Orange will host Penn State at SU Soccer Stadium on Thursday Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
