SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The Orange men's soccer team (6-4-2, 3-2-0) blanked No. 25 Southern Methodist (5-3-3, 2-1-2) in a thrilling 2-0 match at the SU Soccer Stadium. Goals by Landon Darko and Carlos Zambrano gave Syracuse its fourth win in a row.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SMU's Noah Ervin attempted to pass the ball back to goalkeeper Martin Dominguez, but the ball was intercepted by Darko who found the back of the net in the 43rd minute.
In the 65th minute, Tomas Hut's goal kick was enough to make it down the field. Chimere Omeze headed the ball off the kick, right into Zambrano's possession, who fired it from way beyond the box and gave Syracuse another goal on the board.

The Orange will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers on Saturday Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

- The win was the first for 'Cuse against a ranked opponent in three tries this season.
- The Orange were outshot by SMU 10-6, with Syracuse shooting two on target.
- Syracuse took five corner kicks throughout the game compared to the Mustangs' two.
- 'Cuse recorded its seventh shutout of the season.
- Tonight's win puts Syracuse in fifth place in the conference standings.Â
