Orange Draws with #4 NC State to Close Regular Season

RALEIGH, N.C.- The Orange men's soccer team (7-6-3, 4-3-1) closed their regular season with a 1-1 draw against No.4 NC State (11-1-4, 4-1-3). Sachiel Ming's first career goal in the 80th minute kept the Orange in the game to bring the final score to a tie. Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ Â Â
The Wolfpack were awarded a free kick opportunity just outside the box in the 17th minute, but the wall of Orange defenders blocked the ball from entering Tomas Hut's territory. Â
A defensive battle kept both teams scoreless going into the half. NC State took seven off-target shots, whereas Syracuse found itself attempting none. Â
A penalty kick was awarded to Drew Lovelace in the 46th minute to start off the second half. Lovelace was able to put the ball past Hut to put the Wolfpack on the board.Â
In the 79th minute, a yellow card was issued to NC State's Riley Moloney. The Orange set up for the free kick, but were unable to find the net. Â
Just moments later in the 80th minute, Sachiel Ming found the ball and dribbled it past the Wolfpack defenders to score his first career goal and to bring the match to tie.Â

- The Orange were outshot by NC State 18-6, with Syracuse shooting two on target Â
- 'Cuse had two corner kicks compared to the Wolfpack's sevenÂ

The Orange will begin their postseason play in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The match is set for Wednesday Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.Â
