SYRACUSE, New York – Syracuse tied St. John's, 0-0, on Saturday at the SU Soccer Stadium in its final tune up for the 2025 regular season. The Orange officially open the campaign on Thursday, Aug. 21 against UConn at 7 p.m.

Syracuse was the more dangerous team throughout the match, outshooting St. John's, 11-3. The Red Storm put only one shot on frame, which was saved by 'Cuse goalkeeper Kyle Jansen. The Orange's best scoring chance came in the 67th minute. The play started with Sachiel Ming on the left side of the box. The ball was played to Gavin Wiig on the left side, who tried to put his shot just inside the near post, but Red Storm goalkeeper Nicholas Bezama made the save.
