
Orange Duo, USA Win PALA Title!

AUBURNDALE, Florida -- Rising senior Emma Mucnick and 2024 graduate Katie Goodale helped Team USA claim the inaugural Pan-American Women's Lacrosse Championship on Monday in Auburndale, Florida. The U.S. defeated Canada, 21-11, in the final.
Team USA led from start to finish, jumping out to a 4-1 lead. The squad scored the last three goals of the first half to take an 11-5 lead into the locker room at intermission. The lead grew to 14-5 before Canada tallied four-straight goals and trailed 15-10 early in the fourth quarter.Â
The U.S. pushed the lead back to seven before Maddy Baxter '24 converted on the free position for Team Canada. The United States responded with the final four goals of the game for the 21-11 victory. Baxter and Bianca Chevarie '23 were part of the Canadian roster.
Earlier in the day, the Haudenosaunee Nationals rallied from a five-goal halftime deficit to defeat Puerto Rico, 12-10, in the bronze medal game. The squad includes former Orange Sierra Cockerille '22, Alie Jimerson '18, Jalyn Jimerson '22 and Ally Trice '21.
All three teams earned a spot in next summer's World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Tokyo.
