
Orange Close Out Regular Season With Loss to #2 Eagles

SYRACUSE, New York – No. 14/16 Syracuse ended the regular season with a 17-2 loss to No. 2/2 Boston College on Thursday at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse. The Orange enter postseason play with a 9-7 overall record.

Syracuse recorded a 5-4 record in ACC play this season to earn the No. 6 seed in next week's conference tournament in Charlotte. The Orange will take on No. 3 seed Stanford in the last quarterfinal game on Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Boston College (15-1, 8-1) jumped out to an early lead and held a 7-0 advantage after the first quarter. Rachel Clark added a pair of goals in the second quarter, helping the Eagles to a 10-0 halftime advantage.

Freshman Caroline Trinkaus put Syracuse on the scoreboard at the 3:48 mark of the third quarter, but Boston College continued to extend its lead in the second half.

The Orange take on Stanford for the second time this season on Wednesday, April 23 in Charlotte. Syracuse defeated the Cardinal, 14-13, in double overtime in the JMA Wireless Dome in March.
