
Three Named USA Lacrosse All-Americans

SYRACUSE, New York -- Syracuse junior Emma Muchnick, graduate student Emma Ward and junior Coco Vandiver have been named All-Americans by USA Lacrosse. Muchnick earned a spot on the third team, while Ward and Vandiver were honorable mention selections.

Muchnick leads the Orange in goals with a career-high 31 and ranks third in points with 36. The All-ACC First Team honoree has scored multiple goals in 11 games this season, including a career-high five in the win at Loyola. The midfielder also has posted career highs in ground balls (24) and caused turnovers (9).

Ward is Syracuse's leader in points with 69 and assists with 42. She ranks 20th in the nation in assists and 22nd in assists per game (2.47). She has posted four or more points in 11-of-17 contests this season. Ward, who earned All-ACC Second Team honors, became Syracuse's all-time leader in career assists (165) in the Orange's quarterfinal contest against Stanford.

Vandiver has anchored Syracuse's defense this season that has held its opponents to 10 goals or less in five games this season. She leads the team with 38 caused turnovers, which ranks second on the Orange's single-season record list. The All-ACC Honorable Mention selection ranks 15th nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.24).

Syracuse opens NCAA Tournament play on Friday, May 9 when it takes on Brown at 4 p.m. in New Haven, Connecticut.
