
Ward Named Tewaaraton Award Nominee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Syracuse graduate student Emma Ward is one of 25 nominees for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award, which is presented to the top college lacrosse player in the nation. The list of women's and men's nominees was announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday, April 17.

Ward leads the Orange in points (68) and assists (41) and is tied for second in goals (27). She has posted four or more points in 11 games this season. Ward ranks fourth in the ACC and 11th in the nation in assists and is 15th nationally in assists per game (2.73). In addition, she ranks sixth in the ACC in points per game (4.53).

The Islip, N.Y. native enters Thursday's regular-season finale against No. 2 Boston College tied for the school record for career assists with 164, which matches Katie Rowan's total from 2006-09. Earlier this season, Ward became just the seventh player in program history to record 300 career points. Ward and Rowan are the only players in program history to record more than 150 goals and 160 assists in their careers.

Five women's and men's finalists will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season. This year's winners will be announced on May 29 in Washington, D.C.
