Raynee DeGrio was added to the cross country and track and field coaching staff during the 2013 outdoor season to assist with the women’s distance and cross country runners. She will also assist with strength and conditioning as well as player support and operations duties.
DeGrio comes to Syracuse after working as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Baylor for two seasons, working with both cross country and track and field. While at Baylor, she completed a master’s degree in sport pedagogy and served as a graduate teaching assistant in the Health, Human Performance and Recreation Department.
DeGrio competed in track and field and cross country at St. Thomas (Minn.) University, where she helped the Tommies win two cross country, four indoor and four outdoor Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles. She earned all-MIAC honors ten times in her track and field career, specializing in middle distance and steeplechase.
A native of Grand Rapids, Minn., DeGrio graduated from St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in chemistry.
