
'Cuse Closes Regular Season

The Syracuse cross country teams closed out their regular season Friday at the John Reif Memorial Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Cornell at the Moakley Course.
Competing unattached in the men's open 5K, redshirt freshman Drew Zundell led the Orange contingent, finishing first overall with a time of 14:48.1. Fellow redshirt freshman Asher Danielson was right behind in second place, clocking 14:49.4. Redshirt junior Eamon Burke placed third with a time of 14:58.3. Tristan Thurneysen finished fourth at 14:59.9, while redshirt freshman Charles Guerrera took fifth place in 15:05.2. Redshirt freshman Omar Alsaidi finished sixth at 15:07.6, and redshirt freshman Andrew Walton placed seventh with a time of 15:15.7.
On the women's side, sophomore Sarah Lawson posted a time of 17:46.8 in the open 5K event. Freshman Luise Hitzbleck followed with an 18:03.5, while freshman Mackenzie Cook finished at 18:12.4 and sophomore Lauren Augustyn crossed the line at 18:42.5.
The Orange will turn their attention to championship season, beginning with the ACC Championships on Oct. 31 at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
