Orange Clash With #33 Stanford, #16 California

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse University women's tennis closes out a three-match home stand this weekend, taking on No. 33 Stanford and No. 16 California. Both matches will take place at the Drumlins Tennis Club, with Friday's match against Stanford slated for 3 p.m. The first doubles serve on Sunday against California is set for 11 a.m.

- The Orange notched their first conference win two weekends ago, sweeping Boston College 5-0.
- Last Sunday, Syracuse fell 4-2 in a tightly contested affair with No. 32 SMU.
- Syracuse owns a 4-2 record at Drumlins Country Club this season and is 37-18 at home since spring of 2021.Â
- Monika Wojcik leads the team with 12 overall wins this spring. She has posted a 7-3 record in singles action and is 5-5 in doubles play.Â
- Nelly Knezkova ranks second on the team in singles victories with five. She holds the team lead in doubles wins with six.Â
- Wojcik owns a 3-1 record when playing in the No. 4 singles spot.Â
- The No. 1 doubles duo of Knezkova and Anastasia Sysoeva are 4-2 so far this spring.Â
- Serafima Shastova recorded wins against Cornell, Fordham and Buffalo at No. 1 singles. She logged her fourth singles victory of the spring against Boston College while playing at the No. 2 position.Â
- Constance Levivier picked up her first singles win of the season against Buffalo, winning 7-6 (7-3), 6-0.Â
- The Orange have taken the doubles point in six of their 11 matches this spring.Â
- Leena Bennetto has won three-straight singles matches. She notched her first singles triumph in conference play last weekend against SMU, winning 6-2, 6-2.
- No. 33 Stanford enters the weekend with a 6-6 overall record after falling 4-1Â to No. 2 ranked Pepperdine.
- The Cardinal have split their opening slate of ACC matches. They swept Georgia Tech and Wake Forest while falling to Clemson and NC State.Â
- Stanford posted a 17-9 record in duals last spring, reaching the Super Regionals stage of the NCAA tournament before falling to Oklahoma State.Â

- Stanford owns a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series.
- No. 16Â California heads into Sunday with a 6-3 overall record after dropping its last match against No. 2 Pepperdine 4-1.
- The Golden Bears are 3-1 in conference play, with their lone defeat coming against No. 14 NC State.Â
- California logged a 15-9 record in duals last spring, including an impressive 9-3 record in ACC play, before falling in the Super Regional of the NCAA tournament to eventual champion Georgia.Â
- Senior Berta Passola Folch highlights the returners for the Golden Bears. She is the No. 8 ranked singles player in the nation and was the runner-up at the NCAA Singles Championship last Fall. Passola Folch is 6-2 in spring duals.Â
- Freshman Johanne Svendsen is the No. 16 ranked singles player in the country. Svendsen defeated No. 13 Anastasiia Grechkina of Pepperdine in her previous match and is undefeated in singles play this spring.
- California's duo of Svendsen and Mao Mushika was ranked No. 65 in the latest ITA Women's Doubles Poll.Â
- The Golden Bears own a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series.
