
Orange Claim Road Victory Over Boston College

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Syracuse University women's tennis team bounced back from a tough ACC opening slate, defeating Boston College 5-0 Saturday evening at the Weymouth Club.
The Orange (5-5, 1-2) clinched the doubles point after a back-and-forth set of doubles matches. Serafima Shastova and Monika Wojcik made quick work of Olivia Benton and Leyden Games, winning 6-1 to give the Orange an early advantage. Bella Camacho and Tola Glowacka defeated Constance Levivier and Leena Bennetto 6-2 to set up a winner-take-all match at No. 1 doubles. Anastasia Sysoeva and Nelly Knezkova battled back from a 3-5 deficit to secure the doubles point, winning 7-5 over Natalie Eordekian and Seren Agar.
Wojcik picked up a second point for the Orange, defeating Eordekian 6-4, 6-2 at number three singles to open singles action. Sysoeva triumphed 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles position over Benton to secure a third point for Syracuse. Shastova claimed the winning point for the Orange, knocking off Seren Agar 6-4, 6-4. Bennetto added a fifth point, defeating Games 6-4, 6-3.
Syracuse returns home from a three-match road trip next Sunday to face SMU. The match will take place on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Drumlins Country Club.
