NEW HAVEN, CONN. – Syracuse (1-1-1) is prepped to travel to Yale (0-1-0) on Monday Sept. 1 for a 4 p.m. match at Reese Stadium. Â
'Cuse UpdateÂ
Syracuse drew 1-1 with Penn State in Thursday night's match. Sophomore Kelvin Da Costa scored his first collegiate goal on an assist from Nathan Scott in the 13th minute. Â
Goalkeeper Tomas Hut had three diving saves to keep the game tied in the second half - one of the best matches in his collegiate career. Â The Orange successfully defended Penn State's eight corner kick opportunities. Â
Scouting the BulldogsÂ
Yale dropped its season opener on the road at Sacred Heart 3-1. Freshman Sebi Roy scored his first collegiate goal off of an assist from junior Simon Adjakple. Yale's goalkeeper, Conrad Lee, recorded his first collegiate save and tallied three more throughout the match. Â
The Bulldogs come off a 4-11-1 season in 2024. Yale's season ended on a seven-game losing streak.The Bulldogs finished last in the Ivy League with a 1-6-0 conference record.Â
Yale welcomed three new assistant coaches to their staff in 2025. Brad Camp, Nick Taljan and Killian Riley have all had experience as assistants at their previous schools, posting successful winning records.Â
Series HistoryÂ
•The Orange lead the series with an all-time 2-1-1 record. Â
• Syracuse and Yale last faced off during the 2023 season, resulting in a 2-0 Orange win at home.Â
• The series dates back to 1920 where the first two teams met, resulting in a loss for 'Cuse. The only other recorded matchups were held in 1985 at a neutral site and 2019 in Syracuse.Â

Following Monday's match, the Orange will welcome Duquesne on Friday Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. Admission and parking are free at the SU Socceer Stadium.Â
