
Orange Hit the Road to Play Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Syracuse returns to the road April 13 and 14 to face former Big East rival Seton Hall for the first time since 2013. The team's play a doubleheader in South Orange, N.J. on Saturday before a single game Sunday. Start times are set for noon both days with the contests airing on FloSports.

Syracuse has played Seton Hall 31 times, the eighth-most games against an opponent in program history. The Orange hold a 17-14 advantage in the all-time series and won its last matchup, 4-3, on April 21, 2013. Syracuse has won 11 of the last 14 games against the Pirates.

ORANGE UPDATE:Â
- Syracuse swept Colgate, 2-1, in nine innings, and 3-1, Wednesday in the team's first midweek doubleheader. The Orange extended its advantage to 10-4 against the Raiders and 8-2 at home, while holding Colgate to one-or-fewer runs in nine of the victories.
- Senior Lindsey Hendrix tossed all nine innings in the first game, the longest outing of her career. Hendrix's 9.0 innings is the most pitched in a game by a Syracuse pitcher since Kaia Oliver on Feb. 20, 2021.
- Junior Taylor Posner stole her 10th base of the season in the second game, becoming the first player since 2012 to have at least 10 home runs and 10 swiped bags in the same season.
- Sophomore Julianna Verni recorded her third save of the season, tying her with Oliver (2021) for the most saves by a sophomore in program history. In Verni's last four appearances, the righty is 2-0 with a save in 10.0 innings. Verni has a 0.70 ERA with nine strikeouts and has held opponents to a .162 batting average in that span.
- Junior Kelly Breen mashed her first homer of the season, becoming the 10th different player to leave the ballpark. Breen is batting .522 (12-for-23) over the last seven games.
- Senior Angel Jasso is tied with six other players for the most triples in the country. Jasso also sits fifth in the nation in triples-per-game.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:
- Seton Hall is 18-14 this season and 9-6 in the Big East. The Pirates most recently won two-of-three games against Providence in South Orange, N.J.
- Taylor Hill leads the Seton Hall offense in nearly every offensive category including batting average (.346), hits (37) and doubles (10). Hill is tied with Kelsey Carr for the team lead in home runs with six.
- The Pirates are one of the nation's best fielding teams, with their .979 fielding percentage ranking seventh in the country. The team's 19 errors are tied with Omaha and Robert Morris for the third fewest amongst the 296 qualifying teams.
- Kyra Kreuscher has a staff-best 2.58 ERA, while Carr has thrown a team-high 95.1 innings in the circle, posting an 8-6 record with 10 complete games in 11 starts.
