Men's Rowing Concludes Fall Season

The Syracuse men's rowing team concluded its fall season on Saturday in Ithaca, NY. The Orange raced a trio of 3,500m head races against Dartmouth and Cornell on the Cayuga Inlet, the Big Red's home course.
In the first flight of the day, all three squads raced their top lineups for the Varsity Eight race which saw Dartmouth (10:29.9) narrowly beat Syracuse's (10:30.4) time by half a second. Cornell finished third in 10:51.9. Dartmouth swept the second varsity, third varsity and fourth varsity races as well while Syracuse held steady turning in the second fastest time in all three races while Cornell was third.
Each team had the opportunity to alter lineups between races, resulting in Syracuse's 2V and 3V each winning their remaining 3,500m races. The 3V held a slim margin, 0.4 seconds) over Dartmouth while the 2V clocked in at 10:59.9 over Dartmouth (11:04.6) and Cornell (11:53.9) in the second flight. In the final flight, Dartmouth won the 1V and 4V to close out the day. .
In the final flight of the day, Dartmouth was victorious in the 1V once again but the Orange earned wins in the 2V and 3V to close out their day.
Syracuse will wrap up fall training in a few short weeks. The Orange begin the spring semester with a winter training trip to Florida before returning to the Salt City to prepare for the spring season which will begin at Redwood Shores on April 11.
