Fourteen Syracuse track and field student-athletes are set to compete in the NCAA Championships East First Round from Wednesday through Saturday, looking to advance to Eugene, Oregon for the NCAA Championships.

Men's 110-Meter Hurdles First Round | Wednesday 6 p.m.
Jamir Brown and Isaiah Hayes will be the first two members of the Orange on the track. They'll compete across six heats in the 110-meter hurdles, with the top-three from each heat, plus next-six fastest times advancing to Friday's quarterfinal.
Brown has the fourth-fastest time in the east this season and ranks seventh nationally in the event. His school-record 13.25 seconds, which he set while winning the ACC Championship, has him 0.12 seconds faster than anyone else in his heat (heat 3).
Hayes will race in the sixth and final heat. Georgia's Le'Ezra Brown is the fastest in that heat. Hayes ranks fourth in his heat with a season-best time of 13.79 seconds.
The quarterfinal round will be at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
Men's 1,500-Meter Run First Round | Wednesday 6:30 p.m.
All-ACC finishers Drew Zundell and Benne Anderson will both race in the first of four heats on Wednesday. The top-five finishers in each heat and next-four fastest times will advance to Friday's quarterfinal round.
Anderson (3:36.45) enters with the second-fastest time in his heat, trailing only Virginia's Gary Martin. Zundell (3:39.98) ranks seventh in his heat.
The quarterfinal round will be at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
Men's 400-Meter Hurdles First Round | Wednesday 8:20 p.m.
Elijah Mallard will represent 'Cuse in the 400-meter hurdles. The school record holder in the event, Mallard will race in the fourth-of-six heats, where the top-three finishers plus next six fastest times advance to Friday's quarterfinal.
Mallard has the second-best time in his heat this season (49.97 seconds), trailing only Georgia's Mohamed Adoini (48.75 seconds).
The quarterfinal will be at 7:25 p.m. on Friday.
Men's 10,000-Meter Run Semifinal | Wednesday 9:10 p.m.
The first opportunity for the Orange to punch tickets to Eugene will be in the men's 10k semifinal on Wednesday night.
Syracuse will see Peter Walsdorf, Connor Ackley, Assaf Harari and Louis Small compete, all hoping to be one of the top-12 finishers that advances to the NCAA final.
Walsdorf enters with the seventh-fastest time in the field (28:14.58). Ackley is 20th (28:34.50), followed by Harari (28:49.65) and Small (28:51.68) in 23rd and 24th, respectively.
The 10ks have been an event of continued success for 'Cuse, with the Orange qualifying at least one competitor for the NCAA final in 10 of the last 11 seasons.
Women's 100-Meter Hurdles First Round | Thursday 6 p.m.
Peyton Rollins will race in the sixth and final heat of Thursday's opening round of the 100-meter hurdles. The top-three from each heat plus next six fastest times will advance to Saturday's quarterfinal.
Rollins enters the meet ranked sixth in her heat, which feature's Kentucky's Emmi Scales, who has the top time in the country this year. Rollins set her personal best (13.28 seconds) two weeks ago at the ACC Championships.
The quarterfinal will be at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Women's 10,000-Meter Run Semifinal | Thursday 9:10 p.m.
Emma Eastman and Madeline Heintz will look to be the first SU women to advance to Eugene in Thursday's NCAA semi of the 10k.
The top-12 finishers advance and Eastman enters the meet ranked 13th in the field based on time this season. However, her career best would put her ninth in the field.
Men's 3,000-Meter Steeplechase Quarterfinal | Friday 5:40 p.m.
Julian Franjieh will represent the Orange in the quarterfinal of the steeplechase. Franjieh will be in the third and final heat, from which the top-three finishers plus next-three fastest times across the heats will advance to the NCAA semifinals in Oregon.
Franjieh ranks 11th in his heat based on time this season, however his PR is five seconds better than his best time this year. Louisville's Geoffrey Kirwa – the national leader – is also in Franjieh's heat.
Women's 5,000-Meter Run Semifinal | Saturday 8:10 p.m.
The final event of the weekend will be the women's 5k, where Selma Anderson will seek a trip to the NCAA final.
The event will be two 24 runner heats, with the top-five plus next two fastest times across the heats advancing to Oregon. Anderson will race in the second heat, where her time of 15:41.68 this season ranks sixth in the field.
