PUCK DROP
- The Orange hit the road for the first time in 2026 as Syracuse heads for Moon Township, Pennsylvania to face Robert Morris for the second time in a month.
- Syracuse and the Colonials met at the end of the 2025 calendar year on December 5 and December 6. The two games were as close as could be as visiting Robert Morris won the first game 1-0 before a 2-2 tie the next day. Robert Morris picked up the extra AHA point with a 1-0 decision in the shootout.
- The Orange are fresh off a sweep of Delaware, finishing off the regular season matchups against the Fightin' Blue Hens with a 3-1 win Friday night and a 4-0 shutout Saturday afternoon.
- Ava Drabyk received Rookie of the Week honors from the AHA, her fourth weekly award of the season, with 29 saves in the two wins and her third career shutout.
- Syracuse and the Colonials are set to square off on FloHockey and locally in Western Pennsylvania on SportsNet Pittsburgh+ for both games this weekend at Clearview Arena.

- The Orange ended their 2025 campaign at home and started 2026 at home as well.Â
- Syracuse was off to one of its better starts in the first half of a season, sitting at 8-11-3. Compared to last year's first half of the season, the Orange have won more games. With 10 Â wins to their credit, the Orange will need to win five more games to surpass last year's win count (15-23-0).
- Under head coach Britni Smith, the best first half for Syracuse came in 2022-23 with an 8-13-1 start, while Syracuse went 7-12-0 last year before New Years Eve.Â
- By winning percentage, the .395 in the fall of 2025 is the best percentage in the last four seasons before the break, sailing past the .386 in 2022-23.
- Last season, in the latter half, Syracuse had a 6-9 run in the regular season and a 2-2 run in the post season. Syracuse will have a completely AHA opponent schedule in this second half of the season. Syracuse has gone 4-6-2 in the first half of the season against opponents that they will play in January and February.Â
SKATE WITH THE ORANGE RETURNS
- Skate with the Orange is back for another season!
- On Monday, January 19 the Syracuse women's ice hockey team will head to the Clinton Square outdoor skating rink. The annual event is slated for 1 p.m.
- Kids, fans, and families are invited out to Downtown Syracuse's idyllic outdoor skating rink, a location for outdoor winter fun that dates back to the days of the Erie Canal.
DRABYK COLLECTS THIRD AHA WEEKLY HONOR
- Freshman Ava Drabyk has been named the AHA Rookie of the Week for a second time.
- The Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon.
- The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native earns her fourth AHA weekly award after holding Delaware to one goal on the weekend.Â
- Drabyk now leads all AHA goaltenders in weekly awards (Two Goaltender, Two Rookie).
- Drabyk led the AHA with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage in two games played.Â
- The freshman netminder also recorded her third collegiate shutout, making 16 saves in a 4-0 Orange win to solidify the sweep of the Blue Hens. On the weekend, Drabyk made 29 saves between the pipes.
