From the Start
- The third season of the Lynn Farquhar Era begins on Friday as the Orange open the 2025 season with a pair of home games Friday against Lock Haven and Sunday against Fairfield.
- Farquhar has guided Syracuse to 24 wins over the last three seasons, including a 13-7 mark a year ago and another at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament in her second year and the team's fourth straight.
- Syracuse will see a blend of familiar faces, including Preseason All-ACC pick Bo van Kempen, and welcoming 17 newcomers to the program. The Orange return nine players who saw time in at least 15 games in 2024.
- The Orange take on Lock Haven for a second-straight season opener with the 5 p.m. start on Friday and meet Fairfield for the first time in over two decades on Sunday at 1 p.m.Â
- In the cage on Friday it will be a new member of the team in either Jesse Eiselin or Tane King. The former is a junior transfer from Monmouth who made eight saves for the Hawks in 2023 at J.S. Coyne Stadium, while the latter is a freshman from Haverford, Pennsylvania that played in the first-ever Senior All-Star game in July.
With a Win Friday
-Syracuse will run its season-opening win streak to five in a row dating back to the 2021 campaign. The Orange have won 17 season opening games, excluding the Fall 2020 season with several games postponed or canceled.
- Head coach Lynn Farquhar would win her 25th game with the program. She would be the second-fastest head coach in program history to the quarter century mark, reaching that milestone in her 41st game. Long-time Ange Bradley hit 25 wins in her 32nd game, with Farquhar on the bench as an assistant coach during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
- Syracuse would level its all-time record against the Bald Eagles at 3-3-0. The Orange have won the last two meetings 9-0 last season on the road and a 3-2 win in the teams' last meeting in Syracuse on October 30, 1988.
- The Orange would improve to 2-0-0 all-time at home against Lock Haven.
Fill Coyne
- There's no place like home for the Orange.
- Over the last three seasons, the Orange have a 19-5 record at J.S. Coyne Stadium, winning 79.2 percent of the time.
- Syracuse scores in bunches as well, carrying a +30 goal differential in that span as well.
- The Orange have the second-best home winning percentage in the Atlantic Coast Conference in that span as well.
Always Be Scorin'
- The Orange may have 17 newcomers on the roster this season, but the goal, pun intended, is always to score.
- Despite bringing back 53.9 percent of its high-octane offense from a year ago, the Orange return the second-most goals and points in the ACC this fall.
- Backed by 15 goals and three helpers from Bo van Kempen, Syracuse brings back 29 total goals and 69 points from last season's roster. The Orange trail only North Carolina's 60 returning goals and 150 returning points.Â
