How it Happened
- Louisville struck first in the sixth minute as Wordelmann finished off an Everslage feed for a 1-0 lead.
- The Orange earned three penalty corners in the final four minutes of the first quarter. Young turned aside Liddell twice before Liddell broke through with eight seconds left in the period, converting a corner set up by Brewer and Turner to tie the game 1-1.
- Louisville regained the lead in the 24th minute. After the Orange defense blocked two Tamera Cookman shots on back-to-back corners, Plumb scored her fifth goal of the season off a Potter assist.
- Syracuse answered two and a half minutes later. Young stopped Liddell's corner shot, but Turner was there for the rebound, knocking in her ninth goal of the year to make it 2-2. Young denied Liddell on another corner in the 27th minute to send the teams to halftime level.
- Liddell gave Syracuse its first lead of the day in the 34th minute, burying another penalty corner with Brewer and Turner picking up the assists again.
- The Cardinals pulled even 88 seconds later. Eiselin stopped Potter, Plumb rang the post and Maggie Kearin's shot was blocked before Wordelmann put home the loose ball for her second goal of the game.
- Eiselin made two more stops in the third quarter, denying Lauren Masters in the 37th minute and Annabel Sep on a corner in the 39th. Young answered at the other end, turning away Liddell on a corner in the 44th minute to keep it 3-3 after 45 minutes.
- Syracuse killed off back-to-back Louisville corners in the 50th and 51st minutes, blocking two Kearin drives. Moments later, Frenken put the Orange ahead for good in the 52nd minute, scoring her second goal of the season off a Turner assist.
- Louisville earned two more corners in the 53rd and 54th minutes and played with an extra attacker over the final four minutes, but the Orange defense did not allow a shot over the last 9:21 to close it out.
