
Pointer Breaks Record Again; Punches Ticket to NCAA Semis

Iaunia Pointer broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash for the second time this weekend, advancing to Eugene, Oregon for the next round of the NCAA Championships in the process.
Pointer took fourth in her heat with a time of 22.90 seconds, advancing on time to the NCAA semifinals in two weeks. Pointer was a full tenth of a second ahead of Thursday's time (23.00 seconds), which broke the school record she set earlier this season.
Pointers race wraps up the NCAA opening rounds meet for the Orange, which had 12 competitors in Jacksonville.
Pointer joins Sam Lawler in advancing to the next round of the NCAA Championships. Lawler qualified for the NCAA final in the 10,000-meter run on Wednesday. The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held from June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon and will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.
