
Brown Ties School Record; Three More Advance at ACCs

Syracuse sent three more runners through to the finals on night two of the ACC Championships.
Jamir Brown equaled a school record in the 110-meter hurdles, easily qualifying for tomorrow's final, as three 'Cuse hurdlers will compete for ACC titles on Saturday.
Brown's time ties Jaheem Hayles' Â school record of 13.28 seconds, which is the fastest time in the ACC this season and ranks fifth nationally. Brown easily won his heat by over two tenths of a second and was 0.12 seconds faster than the field in Friday's prelims.
Brown was one-of-three Syracuse hurdlers to PR on Friday. Additionally, Isaiah Hayes (13.79 seconds) set his career best and will also advance to the finals. Hayes was third in his heat to take another automatic qualifying spot.
In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Peyton Rollins set a huge PR of 13.28 seconds, which was runner-up in her heat and advances her to Saturday as well. Tia Outlaw placed 10th with a season-best time of 13.46 seconds, while Emeline Clark clipped a hurdle and did not finish.
Freshman Indie Wallace-Persaud set a new personal best in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 11.38 seconds. Her time was just 0.08 seconds off advancing to the final.
Fellow freshman Nicea Jones narrowly missed qualifying for the finals in the 400-meter dash. She took 10th place, one spot out of qualifying position, in a time of 54.34 seconds.
In the lone final of the night, Julian Franjieh placed 11th, crossing the line in 8:55.49.
Syracuse will compete in the finals of the men's 1,500-meters, 110-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles, men's and women's 5,000-meters and women's 4x100-meter relay on Saturday.
