Kaloukian Makes Armenian National Team Debut

YEREVAN, ARMENIA - Syracuse men's soccer alum Nicholas Kaloukian made his debut with the Armenian National Football Team on Thursday, March 20, playing 33 minutes in a 3-0 loss to Georgia in the first leg of the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Nations League playoffs. The former 'Cuse forward came into the contest in the 57th minute for Armenia, playing the remainder of the contest for his national team.
Kaloukian and the Armenian National Team will have another shot against Georgia in the second leg of the playoffs when the teams rematch on Sunday, March 23.
This was not the first time the Syracuse alum donned his country's colors, as the forward competed with the Armenian under-21 National Team last summer in the UEFA EURO U-21 in a pair of games against Montenegro and Romania. He also currently plays in the Armenian Premier League with FC Urartu, who he signed with on Feb. 20 of this year.Â
After playing at Michigan in his freshman season (2022), Kaloukian spent a pair of campaigns with the Orange in 2023 and 2024, appearing in 33 matches with eight goals and three assists. During the 2023 season, he went on a five-game point streak and recorded three goals in postseason play, including a brace against Boston University in the NCAA First Round.
