
Orange Open Weekend at Harvard

The Orange track and field teams got their first of two weekend meets in Boston underway at the Harvard Crimson Elite on Friday.
Three Syracuse hurdlers finished in the top-five of the 60-meter hurdles. Led by junior Tyler Garland's second-straight sub-eight second finish, crossing the line in 7.98 seconds for the win, Jamil Adams (8.06/third) and Naseem Smith (8.08/fifth) all posted strong finishes. Andrew Aguilera (8.32 seconds) took 11th.
Aja Davis was the top collegiate finisher in the women's 60-meter dash. The 'Cuse rookie crossed the line in 7.50 seconds in the final after posting a mark of 7.43 seconds to advance. Teammate Dasia Pressley (7.62) and Eunice Boateng (7.64) ran to 11th and 13th-place finishes in the event.
Shaleah Colaire (8.58 seconds) finished in fifth overall in the women's 60-meter hurdles.
Chris Tucker reached the finals in the 60-meter dash. The junior finished in 6.92 seconds, which was good for fifth. Tucker ran to a time of 6.89 seconds in the prelims, while Jordan Davenport (7.09 seconds) finished 17th.
'Cuse is back in action tomorrow at the Bruce Lehane Invitational and the Kane Invitational.
