Opening Draw
The Orange will travel over 2,000 miles for their first road contest of the Regy Thorpe era, making the trip from Central New York to California to take on the Cardinal.
After Friday's contest against second-ranked Stanford, the Orange will have faced off against all three of the IWLCA Poll's top three teams with Maryland at No. 3 and North Carolina anchoring the top spot in the poll.
Guyette in Net
Daniella Guyette has held it down between the pipes for the Orange, saving shots at a .500 clip thus far. Guyette was named an All-ACC Third Team honoree a year ago after posting 162 saves at a .433 clip as a junior. A native of Newbury Park, California, Guyette returns to her home state for the Friday tilt.
Offensive Leaders
The Orange attack has been spearheaded by Molly Guzik and Caroline Trinkaus thus far, each notching four points up to this point. Guzik led the team in points against the Tar Heels with two goals and an assist while Trinkaus netted two goals.
After being held without a goal against the Terrapins, Emma Muchnick got on the board twice against North Carolina.
The Back Line
The Orange have held opponents to 11.0 goals per game thus far. Mackenzie Salentre leads the Orange with four caused turnovers and tied for the team lead with four ground balls.
Scouting Stanford
Stanford has climbed to No. 2 in the IWLCA Poll after rattling off three straight wins over UC Davis, Clemson and Vanderbilt. The Cardinal have been explosive offensively, averaging 17 goals per contest and putting up 23 in their season opener against UC Davis.
