Syracuse women's lacrosse has named its 2027 leadership group, a five-player unit voted on by their peers. Returning captains Kaci Benoit and Joely Caramelli are joined by Molly Guzik, Alexa Vogelman and Izzy Lahah to lead the 2027 Orange women's lacrosse team.
Â
Returning captains Benoit and Caramelli helped steer the Orange to a 14-5 record and an NCAA Tournament berth last season. Three other key contributors to that run join them this year.
Caramelli, a true two-way midfielder finished her junior campaign with 21 caused turnovers paired with nine goals and three assists. She enters her second season as a captain.
Â
Lahah anchored a defense alongside Benoit that allowed just 8.1 goals per game, the 10th-best mark in the nation, against one of the country's toughest schedules. She also rewrote the program record book with 57 caused turnovers, the most in a single season in Syracuse history. Benoit tacked on 19 caused turnovres to one of the nation's top defensive units.
Â
Guzik steps into the leadership role for the first time after an All-American season in which she led the team with 44 goals and added 10 assists. She also made her presence felt in the circle, winning 73 draw controls.
Â
Vogelman, a midfielder who has appeared in all 39 games since 2025, is also a first-time captain. She scored nine goals with three assists as a junior, including two in the ACC Tournament semifinal against North Carolina.
Â
The group will lead a team that blends a strong returning core with impact transfers and freshmen. Season tickets for 2027 are on sale now! Fans can visit Cuse.com/Lacrosse-Tickets to become a Season Ticket Member today.
