The silver medal and fourth-place teams at the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championship had a few familiar Orange faces on them. Former Orange Maddy Baxter and Team Canada took home the silver medal while alums Sierra Cockerille, Jalyn Jimerson and current senior Paisley Cook placed fourth with the Haudenosaunee Team. The finishes qualified both Team Canada and Team Haudenosaunee for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championship, which will serve as the qualifier for the 2028 Olympics.
Team Canada: Former Orange Maddy Baxter assisted Canada to a silver medal on home soil. Baxter had four goals and two assists, rounding out to six points throughout four games. Playing in all four games, Baxter took 13 shots on goal and picked up 3 loose balls.Â
Haudenosaunee Nationals: Rounding out the top teams that will head to the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championship, the Haudenosaunee Nationals finished in fourth. The only current Orange on both the men's and women's side to compete at the 2026 Pan-Am Sixes Championship was senior Paisley Cook. Cook led her team and finished the tournament in third with 18 goals. After adding four assists, Cook was also in the top 10 in points among all players.Â
Jalyn Jimerson, a former Orange, played in all four games and tallied three goals. Picking up four loose balls, Jimerson was fourth on the team in loose balls, but what made her most impactful was her assists. Jimerson tied for second in the entire tournament for assists with 11.Â
Another former Orange, Sierra Cockerille, was a consistent presence for the Haudenosaunee. Cockerille picked up five loose balls and assisted three goals. Second on the team and sixth in the entire tournament for goals, Cockerille put 16 in the back of the net.Â
Both teams with Syracuse lacrosse representation qualified for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championship in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
