
Syracuse Blanks Canisius, 4-0

Syracuse (2-1-0) received goals from four different players while holding Canisius (0-2-0) scoreless in a 4-0 truimph on Thursday afternoon at the SU Soccer Stadium.
Senior Maya McDermott, graduate student Kendyl Lauher, senior Mia Klammer and freshman Julia Arbelaez each found the net for the Orange. Senior Shea Vanderbosch made five saves and earned the shutout in goal.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED:
The Orange pounced on the Golden Griffins, scoring twice in a 45-second span early in the first half to construct a solid margin. McDermott struck first by taking advantage of an attempted Canisius clear that went off the Griffs' goalpost. McDermott tallied her first collegiate goal, 13:09 into the contest.
Just 45 seconds later, the Orange extended their advantage. Klammer initiated with a long throw in that was deflected to Lauher who finished the play.
KLAMMER TIME:
Klammer scored for the third consecutive game. Sophomore Gabby Wisbeck started the play with a corner kick and Klammer completed things when she tallied on a header at 65:53.
ARBELAEZ CLOSES IT OUT
Arbelaez added the final goal with 15:51 remaining in the contest. She took a feed from graduate student Ashley Rauch and scored right-footed (her off-foot).
