Syracuse captured the only previous meeting between the two programs, a 4-2 decision on Sept. 4, 1996.
Syracuse Status
The Orange (1-1) play a Western New York foe for the second game in a row when it hosts the Golden Griffins. Syracuse was edged by Niagara, 2-1, on August 17.
Graduate student Ashley Rauch has two goals and one assist to lead the Orange in scoring. Senior Mia Klammer has tallied a goal in each of the first two contests to equal Rauch's total. Freshman Julia Arbelaez has a squad-best two assists.
Senior Shea Vanderbosch and sophomore Lilly Heaslet each played a half in the opener against Charleston Southern. Vanderbosch played all 90 minutes versus Niagara.
Canisius Status
The Golden Griffins began their season with a 3-0 loss to Buffalo.
Senior forward Mia Iacona is the top scorer back from 2024 (four goals). Senior midfielder Skylar Cornell had two goals and six assists a year ago.
Freshman Chloe Tseros was in goal for the Buffalo match and finished with nine saves.
