The Syracuse women's tennis team stays alive after the fourth day of the ITA New England Regionals.
Serafima Shastova and Anastasia Sysoeva move on to the semifinals in singles play, while duo Nelly Knezkova and Sysoeva also qualify for the semifinals in the doubles bracket.
Last Four Standing- Singles
Serafima Shastova played strong, grabbing the 6-2, 6-2 win over Boston's Gabriella Mikaul 6-2, 6-2. Anastasia Sysoeva challenged Alexandra Orlins, defeating the Dartmouth player 6-2, 6-4 to move on to the next round of play.
Sweet Sixteen- Doubles
Knezkova and Sysoeva found themselves heading to the afternoon session after defeating Bryant's Natalia Vela and Maria Jose Hernandez Diaz 8-3.
Duo Monika Wojcik and Shastova played a close match, but ultimately fell 8-7(5) to Madison McLeod and Chloe Lomas of Connecticut.
Semifinals Bound- Doubles
Orange pair Knezkova and Sysoeva punched their ticket to the last four duos standing as they took down Daniella Benabraham and Abigail Lee of Brown 8-4.
