’Cuse Falls to Clemson in Series Finale

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse softball team (19-11, 1-8 ACC) fell 15-0 in five innings to Clemson (24-9, 6-3 ACC) on Sunday at Skytop Softball Stadium. With their victory, the Tigers earned a series sweep over the Orange.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Tigers did most of their damage in the top of the third inning, scoring eight runs on five hits to put the run rule into effect. Clemson's scoring surge began with an RBI single, followed by a two-run single, a run scored on a wild pitch, a two-run homer, and a two-run double.
Clemson nearly doubled its lead in the top of the fourth inning, adding seven runs on six hits, including a three-run home run to center field. The Tigers went on to win 15-0 and sweep the series.
OF NOTE:
Syracuse stays close to home, traveling to Le Moyne for a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 26. The first game is set for 3 p.m. at the Dolphins' newly constructed Softball Complex, with the second game to follow at 5 p.m. Both games will air live on ESPN+.
