COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- No. 6 Syracuse women's lacrosse goes on the road for the first time this season to face No. 7 Maryland in College Park on Saturday, Feb. 15. Opening draw at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex is set for 11 a.m.

HONORING 15 FOR LIFE
The Orange are honoring the 15 For Life Foundation at Saturday's game. The foundation promotes open dialogue about depression and mental health. The 15 For Life Foundation was started by the family of Orange All-American Rob Kavovit, who succumbed to depression in March 2021.
ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse opened the 2025 campaign with a 21-9 victory against UAlbany. Senior Olivia Adamson tallied a game-high six points (3g, 3a), while graduate student Emma Ward had five points (3g, 2a). Overall, 11 different players scored at least one goal in the win.
Defensively, the Orange held the Great Danes without a goal for more than 21 minutes, allowing 'Cuse to pull away for the win. Junior Daniella Guyette made her first career start in goal and finished with three saves, three ground balls and a caused turnover.
SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
Saturday's game is the season opener for Maryland. The Terrapins were 14-6 last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
Chrissy Thomas is Maryland's leading returning scorer. She recorded 45 points on 18 goals and 27 assists a year ago. Kori Edmonson is the leading returning goal scorer with 38 goals.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game marks the 28th meeting between Syracuse and Maryland. The Terrapins lead the series with the Orange, 24-3.
Maryland visited the JMA Wireless Dome last season. The Terrapins jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but Syracuse scored the final three goals of the first half and the first goal of the second to take a 5-3 lead, the largest advantage for either team in the game.
Maryland recorded back-to-back goals to again even the score with 8:50 remaining in the third quarter. The teams traded goals the remainder of regulation, which ended in an 8-8 tie. Hannah Leubecker scored her third goal of the day in OT to give Maryland the 9-8 victory.
