- Syracuse women's ice hockey returns to Tennity Ice Pavilion for another round of games against a top 10 team, this time squaring up with No. 7 Quinnipiac.
- The Orange are coming off a pair of wins (3-2, 8-2) at Stonehill last weekend, producing the most goals in a game since a 7-7 draw with Lindenwood on Feb. 2, 2024.
- 'Cuse takes on Quinnipiac Friday at 5 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. clash on Saturday. Both games will be carried on FloHockey with live stats accessible on Cuse.com.
- Syracuse is looking to produce its first three-game winning streak of the season and first since the end of the 2024-25 regular season into the postseason.
HOME COOKIN'
- Syracuse is looking to continue its strong play at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
- Last season, the Orange went 9-9-0 at home, winning their final four home games of the season, including the final three of the regular season and the 3-2 double overtime win over Robert Morris in the AHA Quarterfinals
- The Orange have won four of their last six at Tennity dating back to last season.
- The only pair of setbacks in that span came during opening weekend against Minnesota Duluth, ranked sixth at the time. The Orange held the Bulldogs below their season scoring average in both games of the season opening series.
ARMSTRONG NAMED AHA FORWARD OF THE WEEK: OCTOBER 7
- Peyton Armstrong has been named the AHA Forward of the Week
- The Bancroft, Ontario native had an explosive offensive weekend racking up four points in the two-game series at Stonehill.
- In the first game Armstrong contributed an assist to help Syracuse defeat Stonehill 3-2 in Friday night's match, helping the Orange earn their first win of the season. The goal proved to be the difference and put 'Cuse up 3-1 over the Skyhawks in the second period.
- The forward then had a tremendous game Saturday afternoon when the Orange defeated Stonehill 8-2 to complete the series sweep. Armstrong first assisted on a power play goal at 7:39 in the second period.Â
She then followed up with her first goal of the season 8:05 into the second on a power play.Â
Eight minutes later Armstrong found the back of the net for the second time putting Syracuse up 6-0 entering the third period.
