From the Start
- The midway point of three-straight one-game weeks sends the Orange off to Massachusetts for the penultimate ACC game of the season, taking on a longtime rival in Boston College. The Orange and Eagles meet for the 42nd time since 1988.
- Friday features a 6 p.m. start at the Eagles' Field Hockey Complex in Newton. Friday's tilt will air on ACC Network with Leah Secondo and Suzanne Bush on the call.
- The Orange are coming off a 4-3 loss against North Carolina, which moved into the top spot of the NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll this week.
- Syracuse is looking for its sixth win in a true road game during the 2025 campaign, bringing them equal to away game wins from the 2024 season.
- Syracuse will look to exact revenge on the Eagles, who took down the Orange 1-0 in Syracuse's last regular season game of 2024.Â
- The Orange remain in the top 10 in the week's NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, the seventh-straight week Syracuse has been inside the top 10, the most top-10 weeks since six during the 2017 campaign.
With a Win Friday Syracuse Would...
- Improve to 6-1 on the road, making it two seasons in a row with at least six road wins.Â
- Be the third ACC win of the year for Syracuse, marking back-to-back seasons with at least three wins in conference play.
- Be the 29th win for the Orange over the Eagles and the second most wins over another program, right behind Cornell, a team Syracuse has beaten 33 times.
-Head coach Lynn Farquhar would improve to 4-1 against Boston College as a head coach, going 2-0 while at Saint Joseph's and 1-1 at Syracuse. Farquhar's teams are currently 3-0 when the games are in Massachusetts.

- On Friday, the Orange gained momentum to lead the game going into the second half, however, the Tar Heels took over and netted a goal in the fourth quarter to tie it up and then the game winner in the last 20 seconds of regulation .
- Syracuse has played in the most-one goal games in the ACC this year with its 5-4 record in such contests. All four Syracuse losses this fall are one goal games to teams that have been or currently are ranked in the top 20.
- Syracuse wins one-goal games at a 55.6 percent clip this year.Â
- Of the top three RPI conferences (ACC, B1G, Ivy), the ACC has the most one-goal games on its ledger with a combined 62. The ACC is 35-27 in one-goal games this season (including in-conference), a .565 winning percentage. The Big Ten has 51 one-goal games at a .49 winning percentage (25-26).
- The Ivy League has the best one-goal game winning percentage at .667, but has only completed 39 one-goal games as of Oct. 21.
