Syracuse cross country coach Brien Bell was named USTFCCCA Northeast Region Men's Coach of the Year for the third time in the last four years, after leading the Orange to a Northeast Region Championship and 11th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Bell also collected the honors in 2022, 2021 and 2018.
Both Orange programs finished inside the top-20 at the NCAA Championships last weekend. The Orange are 1-of-11 programs nationally that saw both its men's and women's teams finish in the top-20 of the national meet this season.
The men's 11th-place finish was led by an All-American performance by Sam Lawler, taking 28th overall. The 20th-place finish for the SU women was its best since 2015.
The men are riding the nation's fourth-longest active streak of NCAA Championship appearances at 16 years, while the women have made it each of the past-five seasons. Syracuse is one-of-nine programs nationally to qualify both its men and women's teams in each of the last-four seasons.
