From the Start
- It's back to the NCAA Tournament for Syracuse field hockey as the Orange earn their 18th berth to the big dance.
- The Orange draw Harvard and will meet the Crimson in the Tournament for a second time and the first postseason meeting since 2016. Friday's matinee will be just the third all-time meeting between the schools.
- Syracuse earned an at-large berth for a fourth-straight year and for a second straight season under head coach Lynn Farquhar.
- The winner of Friday's 2:30 p.m. game will get the winner of the first game on Friday between third-seeded UConn and UMass, which begins at 1 p.m. Sunday's second round game is set for 1 p.m. right back at George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
- Friday's game will be carried on ESPN+.

With a Win Friday
- The Orange would move on to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals for a fourth-straight season and would be the only team in the ACC with that active streak.
- Improve to 2-1-0 all-time against the Crimson and would be the first neutral-site win in the series history.
- Be the 21st NCAA Tournament win all-time for the 'Cuse.
- Assure Syracuse does not suffer back-to-back losses for the season, the second time in the last three seasons Syracuse would go the year without back-to-back losses.
- Syracuse would draw the winner of Friday's 1 p.m. game between third-seeded host UConn and UMass.

Syracuse vs. The Field
- Syracuse put together a very strong schedule for the 2024 campaign, featuring seven teams that eventually made the NCAA Tournament, facing three teams that later became conference champions.
- The Orange went 3-0 against non-ACC teams that made the 18-team field, topping Princeton, Lafayette (Patriot Champion) and UConn (BIG EAST Champion).
- Overall against the 2024 field, Syracuse had just a -3 differential in regulation against the seven teams. The Orange hold a +4 goal differential against the noncon foes in the field.
- Against the other four ACC teams in the NCAA Tournament, Syracuse went 1-5, but three of those losses were by a goal, with two going to a shootout against two top-10 teams.

Noted Field Hockey Conference, The ACC
- There is little doubt left entering the 2024 postseason that the ACC is THE force in college field hockey, putting five teams into the NCAA Tournament (Syracuse, North Carolina, Boston College, Duke, and Virginia), accounting for nearly a third of the field after the opening round games.
- As the league is 98-53 overall this fall, including 56-21 in nonconference action, a .727 winning percentage.
- The ACC has the second-best conference win-loss record in Division I, trailing only the Big Ten at 103-62 (.624 overall). The ACC has the best opponent success rate, the best opponent strength of schedule, the best road RPI score, and the best overall RPI.
- This year, the ACC became a bicoastal conference as California and Stanford began play in the league after long stints in the America East Conference and the field hockey specific NorPac.
- The 2024 ACC Championship tournament was held at Wake Forest University from November 5 until the title clash on Friday, November 8.
