Jake Balliu joined the Syracuse staff in July 2025 as Assistant Director of Football Operations.

He spent the past two seasons as an equipment assistant at Florida where his duties included coordinating all areas of practice field set up, setting up Coach Comm S-System for practice and assisting with student manager programs.

Previously, Balliu was the Director of Equipment Services at Long Island University from 2022-23.

Balliu earned his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Winona State where was a member of the football squad from 2015-21. He recorded 123 receptions for 1,524 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 44 games. Additionally, he returned two kickoffs and four punts for touchdowns.

The Lake Villa, Illinois native was a three-time NSIC All-Conference First Team honoree, a 2017 Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-American and a 2021 D2CCA second-team All-America pick. Balliu is Winona State’s all-time leader in punt return yards.
