’Cuse Alums, Staff to Participate in 2026 Women’s Lacrosse World Championship

The 2026 Women's Lacrosse World Championship begins this upcoming weekend, and multiple Orange alums, along with a current player, will take the world stage representing their national teams. Syracuse will be represented on five national teams, the United States, Haudenosaunee, Ireland, Canada and Israel.
The event features 16 teams, each having qualified through continental championships. Teams were drawn into four pools of four, with the top two finishers in each pool advancing to an eight-team knockout bracket. The tournament runs July 24 through August 2 in Tokyo.
Katie Goodale '24 and Emma Muchnick '26 will be on the field, while Kayla Treanor '16 will serve as an assistant coach for the Stars and Stripes. Current Orange strength and conditioning coach Mike Sullivan will also be in Tokyo, serving in that capacity for Team USA.
Haudenosaunee National Team
Three alums will represent the Haudenosaunee National Team with Jalyn Jimerson '22, Alie Jimerson '18, and Sierra Cockerille '22 heading to Tokyo.
Team Ireland
Syracuse alum and current assistant coach Nicole Levy '19 will be on the sidelines coaching the Ireland National Team, while rising-junior Grace McHugh will be on the roster.
Team Canada
Maddy Baxter '24, the Whitby, Ontario native, will take the field with Team Canada in Tokyo. Bianca Chevarie '24, from Brantford, Ontario, will be alongside her to represent the Canadian team.
Team Israel
Shira Parower '25 will be on the field representing Team Israel in Tokyo.
