
Freeman Named All-ACC Honorable Mention

Sophomore Donnie Freeman was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Freeman finished regular season ACC-play with a scoring average of 16.8 while shooting 103-of-217 (.475) from the field, paired with 7.8 rebounds per game. His 16.8 points per game during conference games was the 11th best mark in the league
Freeman was a driving factor in the Orange's first ACC win of the year when he poured in 27 points on 9-of-18 (.500) shooting on the road against Georgia Tech. He notched his first double-double of the season in an away game against Boston College, finishing with 19 points and a career-high 14 boards. He finished with three more double-doubles during league play, coming against NC State (24 points, 10 rebounds), Louisville (10 points, 11 rebounds) and Pittsburgh (18 points, 13 rebounds).
He put on a dominant showing at the JMA Wireless Dome in a win over Florida State, delivering 25 points to go with eight rebounds. Freeman put up a new career-best 28 points when he did so against Wake Forest in late February.
Freeman has led the Orange in scoring in 12 of the 22 games he has appeared in this season and led the team in rebounding 14 times.
Freeman and the Orange get their ACC Tournament started on Tuesday, March 10 when they take on SMU at 4:30 p.m. with the game set to air on ACC Network. The tournament is being hosted at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
